Minimalist Retro Gem - adidas Japan
Looking for sneakers that will definitely make you stand out while keeping your style clean and sophisticated? The adidas Japan sneakers are a hidden treasure from the rich archive of the three-stripe brand. Originally created for the Tokyo Olympics in 1964 as training shoes for elite athletes, we’re bringing this unique vintage legend to Footshop, ready to elevate your everyday streetwear fit to a whole new level.
Low-profile Banger That Perfectly Replaces Samba Models
If you’re into current fashion trends like blockecore or terrace culture, but the ubiquitous Samba or Gazelle silhouettes are starting to bore you, adidas Japan is your clear choice. These stylish retro sneakers boast an extremely low profile, a thin rubber sole, and the iconic T-toe tip.
The upper made from premium soft leather or luxurious suede perfectly molds to your foot, making the shoe fit almost like a second skin. At Footshop, we love them for their incredible versatility – they pair perfectly with wide baggy jeans, cargo pants, summer shorts, and oversized hoodies.
Interesting Facts You Need to Know About adidas Japan:
- Born in Tokyo 1964: The shoes were designed specifically as the official training footwear for athletes at the then-summer Olympics in Japan over 60 years ago.
- A True Unique on the Streets: They offer a sleek narrow retro shape, but you’ll rarely see anyone wearing them on the street. It’s the perfect flex for true sneakerheads and connoisseurs who want an original style.
- Authentic Heel Loop: The faithful retro reissue retains the specific textile heel loop, which not only makes putting them on easier but also gives the shoe an unmistakable vintage look.
- Boxer Version Japan VH: In addition to the low classic, the high-top version adidas Japan VH is currently making waves – an ultra-high shoe inspired by boxing rings that’s totally taking over social media and fashion shows worldwide.

adidas Originals are not just sneakers but an entire culture that has developed around them. Ever since the brand with the iconic three stripes appeared on the scene, it has shaped the sports world as well as streetwear and pop culture. The history of adidas dates back to 1949, when Adi Dassler laid the foundations for the brand that is now one of the absolute top brands. The adidas Originals segment was created as a tribute to the iconic models of the past. It revives classic silhouettes and adds modern elements to them. It keeps the legacy of sports and urban fashion alive and relevant.
The most famous models include the immortal Superstar, favoured by members of the hip-hop group Run-D.M.C. in the 1980s, or the minimalist Stan Smith, named after the legendary tennis player. If you're looking for something more futuristic, the adidas NMD or Ozweego are great choices. The common denominator of all models is quality materials and technologies like Boost or Primeknit. And of course, timeless designs that never get old.
Over decades of existence, adidas Originals sneakers have won fans among celebrities, athletes and artists. They are worn by Pharrell Williams, Kanye West and skater Nora Vasconcellos. The brand regularly collaborates with leading designers and other brands. Collaborations with Yeezy, Prada or Beyoncé' s Ivy Park clearly prove that Originals models are not afraid to constantly push the boundaries of fashion.
Whether you're looking for something for everyday wear, to pump up the sporty vibe or simply retro classics, this brand always has something that will get you going. Atdy certainly doesn't skimp on comfort, quality and style. Choose your pair at Footshop and be part of a legend.
