adidas Superstar II Kids

adidas Superstar: An Unshakeable Streetwear Legend

Some sneakers don’t need a long introduction. Then there’s the adidas Superstar – a fundamental piece and pillar of sneaker culture. A silhouette born on basketball courts, it seamlessly took over hip-hop stages and continues to uncompromisingly set the pace in streets around the world. Whether you’re eyeing your very first pair, need to replace your worn-out daily beaters, or want to add a strict limited collaboration to your collection, Footshop is simply the best place to be.

From Basketball to Hip-Hop: The Birth of a Myth

It’s 1969, and the brand with three stripes introduces something previously unseen – the first low-top basketball shoe with a full leather upper and the iconic rubber toe. Known to everyone as the “shell toe”. During the seventies, these sneakers were worn by over 75% of all NBA players, including giants like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The true cultural shift, however, arrived a decade later. The legendary rap crew Run-D.M.C. turned them into the ultimate street symbol. They wore them strictly without laces, with the tongue pulled out, and immortalized them with their track “My Adidas.” At that moment, a true streetwear icon was born, and the history of sneakers was forever rewritten.

The Evolution of the Silhouette: Iconic Models You Need to Know

Superstars are no longer just one basic version. The silhouette continually evolves, and in our selection, you’ll find modifications that effortlessly elevate your outfit:

• adidas Superstar 82 & 80s: Retro versions that honor the original shapes and proportions. They offer premium leather and often feature intentionally yellowed (off-white or cream) soles for that perfect vintage feel. You might also come across the immensely popular Superstar II editions.
• adidas Superstar XLG & Bonega: The ideal choice for those who love the chunky aesthetic of the nineties. The elevated platform and proportionally bulkier upper give the shoe a massive look that perfectly matches wide baggy jeans.
• adidas Superstar ADV: An upgraded version fine-tuned for a 100% skate feel. It offers improved fit, extra durability (often thanks to premium suede), and a drop-in OrthoLite insole that reliably cushions hard impacts when you’re landing tricks on a ledge. Be sure to check out the pro models of legendary skaters like Kader Sylla or Mark Gonzales.
• Slip On & adifom: Tired of the hassle of tying laces? Slip-on models provide pure comfort and easy wear, while the adifom and mules represent an absolute futuristic leap made from innovative and ultra-light EVA foam.
• Winter and Outdoor: Looking for reliable shoes for dreary weather that don’t compromise on style? Insulated winter Winter Trek and models equipped with waterproof Gore-Tex (GTX) membranes will keep your feet dry and warm, no matter what urban winter throws your way.

Hype and Collaborations That Rewrite the Rules

When it comes to hype collaborations, the Superstar silhouette has long served as a perfect blank canvas. At Footshop, you can regularly snag the most exclusive limited editions. Among the absolute holy grails are the streetwear classic Bape x adidas Superstar with its unmistakable camo print and asymmetrical Bapesta branding, a luxurious fusion with the Italian fashion house Prada, or refined and meticulously crafted pieces from names like Clot by Edison Chen or London-based high-fashion designer Wales Bonner.

If you prefer bolder and more unconventional styles, definitely check out the eco-friendly Sean Wotherspoon Super Earth sneakers, vibrant series (like the legendary Supercolor) from Pharrell Williams, or edgier pieces from brands like Pleasures and Song for the Mute. We can’t forget strong pop culture references: comic fans regularly cherish editions like Spider-Man (Miles Morales), while collectors worldwide diligently chase playful collaborations with Lego, the Star Wars saga (whether it’s Darth Vader or Stormtroopers), or iconic quirky references to The Simpsons (think of furry Marge or Squishee drinks), SpongeBob, or Hello Kitty. And if nu metal runs through your veins, the dark drop from the official collaboration with the band Korn is an absolute must.

Sizing and Colorways: From All-Black to Holographic

A traditional black-and-white version (core black / cloud white) and, of course, the timeless all-white classic are essential for any proper sneaker collection. But do you want to stand out more on the streets? No problem at all. Here, you’ll find everything from metallic silver and gold details to vibrant pink, scarlet, purple, or navy shades, all the way to futuristic holographic and glitter colorways. Animal print lovers will also definitely find their favorites here – whether you prefer leopard or cow print.

We also don’t forget anyone and curate our selection so that the whole family can find their dream pair without exaggeration:

Insider Tips: Fit and Cleaning

You might immediately think of the most common question: Are Superstars true to size? The answer is: Absolutely yes. Feel free to choose your usual size that you’re accustomed to with adidas Originals sneakers (whether it’s your classic 39 1/3, 42 2/3, or maybe 45 1/3). As for materials, the upper of traditional releases is made of premium smooth leather. However, you’ll also commonly find sustainable Vegan alternatives, super breathable and lightweight Primeknit, or innovative pieces utilizing yarn made from recycled plastics Parley for the Oceans, which help us save our planet together.

For maintaining smooth leather and the iconic rubber toe, the best approach is to use a quality sneaker cleaner, a soft brush, and an active cleaning foam. The rubber part of the toe may slightly collect dust or change color over time, but with practical cleaning wipes, you can keep it fresh and bright for a long time. And here’s a little tip to finish: don’t hesitate to experiment with laces on your Superstars! Try lacing them loosely in the style of nineties “fat laces” to give your overall fit that authentic rap flow.

So, do you already know which pair you’ll add to your cart? Join the ranks of giants from the worlds of music, fashion, and sports. Throw on your favorite sweats and lace up the shoe that forever connected basketball courts with the streets. Your new grail is waiting for you at Footshop.
